AHP goes mobile with calculation assistant and specialized app

AHP Merkle GmbH is focusing on mobile technology in collaboration with CADENAS and is developing an app for calculation assistants as well as a specialized app for in-house process improvement. The two innovations were presented by Patrick Mußler, International Sales at AHP Merkle GmbH, at the CADENAS Industry Forum 2014.

The manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders has had a 3D CAD product catalog based on the eCATALOGsolutions software solution from CADENAS GmbH since 2000. This now comprises 15 languages and has been available to both customers and AHP sales staff as a mobile app since 2013.

The family-run company AHP Merkle has been developing, designing and manufacturing both standard and customized state-of-the-art hydraulic cylinders since 1973. The manufacturer, based in Gottenheim near Freiburg, has numerous foreign representatives in Asia, North America and Europe.

When choosing the right component or the different variants of a component, wizards can support engineers and make their daily work much easier. AHP Merkle GmbH has therefore set itself the goal of simplifying the calculation of its hydraulic cylinders for customers and providing a calculation assistant for this purpose. For example, calculations such as buckling strength, piston speed or force or pressure on the piston are possible.

As an interactive and intuitive tool, the calculation assistant will be made available to customers via as many media as possible: on the 3D CAD download portal PARTcommunity, on the data CD, in the general AHP app(http://de.ahp.de/produkte/ahpapp) and as a separate app.
