3D CAD catalog from HOMA: Over 220 articles from the building technology sector available

HOMA Pumpenfabrik GmbH is now making 3D CAD data available in BIM format via the eCATALOG 3Dfindit. The independent family business specializes in the development and manufacture of submersible motor pumps and lifting systems and has its headquarters in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid as well as other branches in France, the Netherlands and Poland.

In building services engineering, HOMA pumps are used for drainage to remove wastewater or sewage. Lifting systems, on the other hand, transport wastewater from lower-lying rooms above the backflow level into higher-lying wastewater pipes. Architects and building services planners must take such drainage systems into account early on in their design. This is why HOMA now offers digital BIM data for its products.

VDI-compliant data for precise planning

The new product catalog from HOMA contains around 220 items from the building services sector and has a configuration logic that allows users to specify parameters such as the delivery rate or the rated electrical power per pump or drive. Based on these entries, MEP planners and architects receive the respective product in the correct BIM format, including VDI-compliant, classified data enrichment. Customers can now easily access the product catalog via the HOMA website and 3Dfindit.

We have noticed that the demand for digital 3D product data has increased significantly in recent years. It was therefore important for us to be able to offer digital data and increase our visibility.

Quotation process: complex vs. independent

Providing 3D product data was a time-consuming process at HOMA before the introduction of the digital product catalog. Separate files were compiled for each customer, depending on the requirements. "This naturally tied up internal capacities, as each file had to be provided individually. With eCATALOG 3Dfindit, our customers can now easily configure and download the required 3D product data themselves, without waiting times or telephone inquiries," explains Vogel. In the future, the range of products in HOMA's digital product catalog will be expanded to include wastewater technology products.
