Kerto-RIPA elements may contain thermal insulation in cavities. The construction resembles a timber frame construction whare any moisture possibly coming into the cavities is ventilated or will be removed by diffusion. In cases where resistance to fire is required, ventilation cavities may require fire stops according to separate design.

Kerto-RIPA elements can be painted or stained. The suitability of the treatment shall be checked with the manufacturer of it.

Kerto-RIPA elements are used as floor and roof construction. For roof construction a single ply membrane can be applied in the factory that is then lapped on site during the Kerto-RIPA installation.

Structural performance of the Kerto-RIPA elements is considered in accordance with the limit state design principles specified in Eurocodes. These methods follow EN 1995-1-1.
