Dovetail
The dovetail is a construction detail in roof trusses used to connect two ridge purlins. In this process, one ridge purlin is recessed into the other and screwed together with a wedge seam. The resulting protrusion on the underside of the ridge purlin is then sawed off to form the so-called dovetail.
