Counterboring is a machining technique in which the shape of a workpiece is changed by one or more cutting edges with a tool that moves in a vertical motion. The cutting edges can be of different thicknesses, resulting in varying degrees of deformation of the workpiece. The machining technique is mainly used in the production of metal parts.
