The Netherlands has produced a number of important technical inventions. Some of the most important are:

- Artificial heart muscle (1957) - Developed by Willem Johan Kolff, a pioneer in dialysis and organ transplantation.
- Bluetooth technology (1990s) - Essentially developed by Jaap Haartsen at Ericsson, changed wireless communication.
