iCONN Systems introduces interactive catalog with online CAD downloads
iCONN Systems, connector design house and manufacturer, has transformed its customers' online experience by simplifying the path to purchase for iCONN standard products. Developed by CADENAS USA, iCONN's new product configurator offers instant digital CAD downloads for more than 500 standard connector SKUs, speeding up customers' design process without sacrificing quality.
iCONN is focused on superior technical product solutions, customer service and continuous improvement. True to its customer-centric approach, the connector manufacturer has developed a CAD catalog with instant digital CAD models to save its customers time and ensure product accuracy.
"We want to keep the time from design to purchase as short as possible. With the configurator, customers can get what they need right away and move on to the next thing," said Rick Regole, Director of Sales and Marketing at iCONN Systems. "When a customer's first interaction with iCONN is seamless and quick, it helps set us apart from other connector manufacturers."
Many connector manufacturers sell their products online through distributors, with the distributor's margin being passed on to the customer. With the standard products that can be purchased directly from the iCONN website, customers bypass the distributor's margin and get the exact components directly from the source.
The iCONN configurator also allows customers to download native CAD models into their design, with 150 CAD formats and versions available, including 3D PDF datasheets, product images and 2D drawings.
"We get a lot of requests for 3D models of our parts so they can be inserted directly into the final product they are designing. Giving the salesperson the ability to download the CAD file and send it to the customer or direct them to a custom link within the configurator so they can do it themselves saves a lot of time," said Regole.
"We were looking for a solution that would allow engineers and designers to create parts on-the-fly and download a 2D or 3D CAD model instantly," says Regole. "We looked at other solutions, and it seemed like CADENAS USA was the best solution for us."
