From photo to 3D model in under 5 seconds

3DfinditKnowledgeFunctionsArtificial Intelligence
Cake printing made easy: Bit-Baker, a young company from Karlsruhe, Germany, has used MY CONTENT 3Dfindit AI to print a unique cake.

On MY CONTENT 3Dfindit, users can easily upload a 2D photo via the My Content AI section and have a 3D model created from it. The conversion is carried out using artificial intelligence (AI). 3Dfindit is a central point of contact for millions of engineers, planners and architects looking for manufacturer-verified 3D CAD, CAE and BIM models. The My Content AI platform also enables users to become part of a community and share their 3D models with others.

How a cake is created from a photo

Users can convert a 2D photo into a 3D model in a matter of seconds on 3Dfindit. To do this, a photo is uploaded and converted into a 3D model using 3Dfindit's artificial intelligence. Bit-Baker, a company from Karlsruhe that has developed a device for making cakes without an oven or baking tin, has already successfully used this function. This is made possible by an innovative 3D printer, the Bit-Baker, which uses a special dough as a filament. The opening of the new "Griffkiste" bouldering hall in Mittelbiberach was to be celebrated at the beginning of April with a very special cake - a bouldering shoe.

With the help of 3Dfindit, Bit-Baker was able to upload the desired photo of a bouldering shoe and convert it into a 3D model in under 5 seconds. "I am still very impressed by how quickly a 3D model can be created from a simple photo. This technology is incredible," says Anton Strahilov, founder and CEO of Bit-Baker.

Some of you may already be familiar with this process: In the field of visual effects, the film and video industry, there is a similar method called photogrammetry or photogrammetry. This involves creating an elaborate scan by using a camera to photograph a well-lit object from all sides and angles. Software is used to convert the image into a 3D model. My Content AI turns a photo into a 3D model in a matter of seconds.
